A Mandrill at the Bronx Zoo
This is a mandrill at the Bronx Zoo. Oh, I already said that.
Mandrills are impressively colorful for primates. The males have blue snouts and bright red butts. I had never seen one in person before, so I thank the Bronx Zoo and their no admission Wednesdays policy for allowing me to check one out. I'm not sure how I feel about the way the zoo seperates some of the more interesting animals into separate areas that require paid entry no matter what you already laid out to walk through the front gate. The mandrills and gorillas are behind one of these paywalls.
I will say that the gorillas are worth every penny right now as two infants have recently been born, and as the old saying goes, "I'd gladly pay $5 to see a baby gorilla."
